About Kristen

Preserving Nature through Art

I’m Kristen, a wildlife bronze sculptor with a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for preserving nature through art. Born and raised in Oklahoma, I credit Tulsa with sparking my creativity early on. Family outings in nature and visits to wildlife art shows shaped my appreciation for the wild, setting the foundation for my work today.

With Love,

Kristen Douglas-Seitz

2016

Jocelyn Russell

In 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to apprentice under Jocelyn Russell, a nationally renowned artist I’ve admired since I was nine. Working alongside her on monumental projects—like life-size elephants and lions for the New Orleans Audubon Zoo—taught me invaluable skills and deepened my commitment to this craft.

Exhibitions

Dallas Safari Club, American Plains Artists Show, 64 Arts

My work has been exhibited in National Juried Exhibitions such as the American Plains Artists Show and Sale, 64 Arts, and Nature Works. You can also find my sculptures at events like Dallas Safari Club and Safari Club International. When I’m not at my studio on San Juan Island, where I continue to collaborate with Jocelyn on large-scale public installations, I’m traveling to art shows or teaching sculpting workshops across the country.

I’m proficient in metal chasing, tooling, and patinas, often working with Michael Dubail, a skilled welder and metal chaser. But beyond creating art, I’m most passionate about sharing my knowledge—helping others discover the beauty and technical skill behind wildlife sculpture.
